I have been busy working on many new things that will directly affect our client in the upcoming years.  This includes a revamp website and blog.  So stay tuned!

I have also been busy with the family and a little travel prior to Christmas.
In the next week we, here at Mark Arnold FOTO, will roll-out the best of 2011.  I am having  a blast trying to pick just 1 or 2 photos from each wedding.  Talk about tough.

I am really looking forward to 2012.  It should be a fantastic year!

Genesis II?

….. While I strive to bring creative photography to our amazing couples.  I want to elevate my skills while be able to expand my foundation in the Art of Photography.

I am off to Memphis this week to study with some of the industries top Wedding Photographers.  I am jazzed and nervously excited.

2011 was an amazing wedding season …. after Genesis – 2012 Season should be incredible!

While I really enjoy the entire process of capturing a couple special day,  I get recharged by spending time with my family (a gorgeous Colombian wife and our 2 girls).  In our local area, we celebrated 4th of July a week early.

Our family was invited to a little back yard cookout – texas style.  This included carne asada, boneless short ribs and a little steak cooked over real mesquite fire wood.  And yes it included all of the fixings …. good stuff.

The kids played and played.  They got wet in the kiddie pool, enjoyed some small games of soccer and kept 4 small dogs entertained.

Desert was fresh watermelon and some fantastic tres-leches or 3-milk cake.  The cake was awe-some!  This was all just a biuld up to the main event….. Fireworks.

Tim, the father and head of house, wanted to know if I could handle the challenge of photographing his family.  I told him i am up for the challenge.  Along with Lisa, Tims wife, we came up with a game plan, the color for the girls, found a shooting location that met our requirements and then gathered the family.

The Location….. UT Dallas campus.

All I can say is the next 1 1/2 – 2 hours was really fun.  Tim and Lisa, you have a cool family.  Here are a few of my favorites.

I and fellow wedding shooter (video) Tim, from Belle Vie Cinematography, got up at 5:oo am to catch the ‘First Glow’.

The first glow is when several of the balloons inflate and fire off their burners and illuminate the balloons.

This was my first balloon festival and was quit taken back at the amount of photographer out at 6:00am.  Here are some of my favorite grabs.

Bonus … I had a Senior from Allen High school, Lauren - Class of 2011 come out and we started a little session with balloons.  These should be cool – stay tuned for more… but know for some balloons

There has been a lot going on for Mark Arnold FOTO in May.

I should have pictures from several weddings.  One wedding was a to support a rockin’ shooter out of the bay area.  Yes, the San Francisco area.

The Shooter is none other than Sam Hassas.  He is a top flight wedding shooter.  I was glad to help a fellow shooter in need.  His flights from San Francisco where cancelled do to weather in Dallas metroplex (Friday – 14th. ).  He asked for help on the forum we both visit and i gladdy volunteered.

I rolled into Forth Worth to help his 2nd shooter Kurtis.  We started shooting the getting ready shots and detail shoots by 11am.

Sam made it about an hour before the wedding started.   It was a blast to watch a craftsmen or ‘creative beast’ at work.  By creative beast i mean the talent, the ability to ‘see’ creatively, his good nature and all out enthusiasm with the clients/guest.

I will post some shots from the wedding in the next couple of days.

A couple of weekends ago, I was up in Oklahoma again to shoot shots for my video partner.  This wedding was in Norman, Ok.  Timmy, my partner and i had a blast with Kelly and Kyle.  pictures will be forthcoming.

I have several more weddings scheduled  in the next couple of weeks.  So stop and see the fun and the gorgeous brides.

Easter 2010: One of the fun parts of being a Professional Photographer – at least part time – is giving back through photography.

This is such a day, shooting kids at church during Easter.  It was a fun morning watching kids scurry about looking for eggs and candy.

While i can’t post the images of the kids, i can post some of shots of the hidden eggs.

This is also the first photo session with the Canon 7D.  What an amazing camera.  check for your self – there is very little post processing on these images.

Donna is a water color artist.  She brings a unique perspective to simple, comfortable, everyday settings.

I can not do her justice explaining her style.  Donna explores Nautical, Floral, Nature and Abstract subject matter.

Always upbeat with a smile, you will get a sense of life through her paintings.

The snow fell and piled up to new heights in Dallas and the surrounding metroplex.  We received ~6-8″ while places west of us by about 30-40 minutes received up to 1 foot or more.  Crazy!  Yep, records fell as fast as the snow.
